What is my PAWS ID?

  • PAWS ID is a 6-digit identification number used to keep and maintain records through the PAWS system.
  • If you forget your PAWS ID number, contact the Help Desk at 609-771-2660 or helpdesk@tcnj.edu.

How can I find my username, password, and/or email?

  • Visit Account Manager.
  • Click on the Account Lookup link and fill out the relevant information.

How can I view an Unofficial Transcript?

  • Login to PAWS and go to Student Center.
  • Look under Academics and open “other academic…” list.
  • Select “Transcript: View Unofficial” and click blue double arrow.

How do I request an Official Transcript [Current Student]?

  • Login to PAWS and go to Student Center.
  • Look under Academics and open “other academic…” list.
  • Select “Transcript: View Official” and click blue double arrow.
  • Fill out information and submit.

How do I verify enrollment?

  • Enrollment verification is done 30 days prior to the upcoming semester through National Student Clearinghouse.
  • A link to Enrollment Verification can be found under Academics in PAWS. For more information, visit Verification.On paws click on enrollment verification.

How do I change my Major?

Fill out the Change of Major Form and get the appropriate signatures.


How do I add a Minor?

Fill out the Minor Form.


How do I transfer credits from another school?

  • Fill out the Course Authorization Form and submit it to an Academic Evaluator at Records & Registration.
  • [If the course is an NJ community college] Check NJTransfer to see if there’s an equivalent course at TCNJ.
  • [If it is not at a community college] Include a course description directly from the particular school’s website.

What is a unit? Where are my credits?

Classes at TCNJ are measured in units and 1 unit = 4 Credits.


What is my class rank?

TCNJ does not ranks its students.


How do I take more than 4 units in a semester (Course Overload)?

  • Contact your department’s Assistant Dean about a Course Overload.
  • Every department has a different process.
  • If approved, the Assistant Dean will send the information directly to our office.

  • Log into PAWS and go to your Student Center.

What do I need to take to graduate?

  • Login to PAWS and go to your Student Center.

Who is my evaluator?

  • Your evaluator audits your degree requirements to make sure you can graduate.
  • They also review transfer and test credits sent to TCNJ.

How do I apply for graduation?

  • Login to PAWS and go into your Student Center.

How do I make sure I’m on track to graduate?

  • Login to PAWS and go into your Student Center.
  • Click on “Advising Tools” and then click View my Advisement Report.
  • If something is missing, contact your department/program advisor.

What if I’ve been told I’m missing requirements, but I’m really not?

  • You will want to double check to make sure any exceptions, waivers, or substitutions, you received were sent to your evaluator.
  • Contact your evaluator to resolve the issue.
