Answer to Question #1:
The Correct Response is: NO
A student’s GPA or any part thereof is never considered directory information and is confidential! Refer this person to our Office of Career Services so they can post the job information. Note, however, that because awards are directory information, the Office of Records and Registration does disclose a list of student names on the Dean’s List.
TCNJ considers the following as directory information and may generally release upon request without the student’s consent:
– Name
– Hometown (City/State/Postal Code)
– Degrees and Dates Awarded
– Honors and Awards Received (including Dean’s List)
– Major(s) and Minor(s) Field of Study
– Classification (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate)
– Enrollment Status
– Dates of Attendance*
– Photograph
– Previous Institutions Attended
– Weight/Height of Athlete
– Participation in Officially Recognized Activities and Sports
Everything in a student record that is not included in the aforementioned list of “directory information” is considered confidential and is never to be released without specific written consent.
*Dates of Attendance: The period of time during which a student attends or attended an institution. Examples of dates of attendance include an academic year, a spring semester, or a first quarter. The term does not include specific daily records or a student’s attendance at the institution.
