When is Written Consent Necessary?
Written consent must be obtained from a student before releasing an education record with some exceptions. One exception noted previously is directory information.

The above form states that, in accordance with FERPA, the College may disclose information from the education records of a student provided the College has on file written consent from the student. However, this authorization is used in incidents requiring singular limited access only.
